Vision Therapy Testimonial Written By: Taylor Coppola VT Program: May 2022 - February 2023 I have always been an independent person. I thought that I was functioning great until I was concussed. After my severe post concussion syndrome was treated I was at the top of my game. I felt great; I had received the all clear from one of the world's best, most accomplished, Osteopathic Manipulation therapists, who focuses on Cranial Osteopath work. I was back to work, social activities and life looked normal again. My OMT did recommend that I see a neurologist, dentist and optometrist to get a comprehensive understanding post concussion. I was quickly cleared by the neurologist and dentist. When I went to visit Dr. Jacobi for a standard eye exam (or so I thought), boy did it turn out to be so much more. In this appointment I learned that my vision was impaired for more than 21 years of my life. Not just because of my concussion, but other previous injuries impacted me and did not self-correct. It was because of this concussion that I learned that I was accommodating my impairment, rather than fixing the problem(s). Through vision therapy, completed by Amanda Franklyn, I was able to learn how to use my eyes. My vision has been given back to me as a result of these treatments, activities and support. Let me say that again...MY VISION HAS BEEN GIVEN BACK TO ME AS A RESULT OF TREATMENT. My headaches, morning nausea, facial twitches, panic attacks and body twitches are healed/gone. My light sensitivity, need for glasses: tinted and prescription, re-reading/poor reading skills are also healed/gone. I can play video games, drive independently/and as a passenger, look at screens all while not getting motion sickness. My life will forever be changed for the better due to the therapeutic services that I received at Suburban Eye Care. I will continue to use these skills that I have learned, corrected and advanced at SEC. Thank you Amanda, Dr. Jacobi and the rest of the SEC team for changing my life in such a powerful way.
